About UsForge Festival is The Knotted Project’s most exciting and ambitious project to date. This annual theatre festival, now in it's 4th year, is co-designed with young people empowers creative young people across Cumbria to tell their story and make a statement through original performances that they co-create with professional artists from The Knotted Project.
A magical, interactive, dance-theatre show for children 3-8 years and their grownups. This rural touring show performs in libraries, schools and other non-traditional settings.

The Knotted Project are lead artists on Tales ReTold, part of the Story-led Resilience Program at Blackpool Grand Theatre; Winner of the 2023 UK Theatre award for Excellence in Arts Education! Over the past few years, we have worked with hundreds of young people at Primary Schools in Blackpool to identify, explore and define resilience by looking through the lens of stories and theatre.
The Knotted Project have been working with the Stage Directions programme since 2020. They were lead artists on the 2023 Stage Directions Summer Program delivering theatre & Co-Creation in Salford. Stage Directions is a theatre making programme for young people in Salford. Led by the Salford LCEP & partners & funded by DCMS & Arts Council England.
We deliver co-creation film projects with young people so they can tell their own story, make a statement and express themselves creatively.
An interactive experience by The Knotted Project for families at Windermere Jetty Museum. Collect clues and follow tracks to uncover the mystery, hidden beneath the surface.
A 45-minute film, created and filmed in lockdown in 2021 by young people in response to the pandemic.
The Knotted Project team has extensive experience in delivering theatre workshops in a wide range of settings including schools, theatres and even forests. Since 2013, we have aimed to adapt our delivery to each individual we work to ensure that physical theatre is accessible to all.
